This is a lovely and unusual size 5-1/2 ring for lovers of topaz. My late mother-in-law was especially fond of topaz as it was her birthstone, so she amassed quite a collection of jewelry containing topaz of all colors. This, however, is a particularly striking piece because of its unexpected, fluted double cone shape. (It's hard to describe but it looks exactly like a cone from the side, but like two cones side by side and oppositely positioned end to end when viewed from the top. Very odd – but very pretty.) The setting – which is a beautiful abstract gold filigree - enhances the interestingly shaped stone very well. It is in near perfect shape and could only be made better by a fine jeweler's polish. Note, this is a fairly small sized ring, but any jeweler can re-size it to fit if you need a larger (or smaller) size. Altogether it is an exceptionally nice piece of vintage jewelry you will be proud to give or wear!
